Going Green – A March Preview

I have a GREAT drink to finish up the month, a true “Farewell to February.”  But, as promised, here’s a brief glimpse of what to expect for March, as well an ingredient list.

March will be another festive month – I am going GREEN!  These are not listed in any particular order as I usually let my mood dictate what to mix, but this looks good so I might go for it.  The Angry Pirate, Emerald City and Green Flash all seem very similar with subtle differences – they are tropical.  The Shamrock Shimmy and Naughty Leprechaun are both minty, but the second one seems like a grown up shamrock shake.  The Green Daiquiri Punch looks fun as well.   I will probably mix up the Bushmills Irish Buck for my husband.  Last, but not least, there is the Japanese Slipper.

I hope this trip to the liquor store won’t cost as much as last month – many of the ingredients can be picked up on my weekly grocery run.

Liquor: Peach Schapps, Malibu Coconut Rum, Midori (or melon liqueur), Cointreau, Gin, Creme de Menthe, Bailey’s, Blue Curacao, Dekuyper Island Punch Pucker (or Maui Blue Hawaiian), Rum, Bushmills Whiskey

Groceries: pineapple juice, pineapple pieces (garnish), Lemon-lime soda (sprite/7up), maraschino cherries (garnish), lemon juice, lime juice, ginger ale, vanilla ice cream, milk, mint leaves (garnish), orange juice, frozen limeade, lime flavored gatorade

Oh, and I might shake things up a bit (no pun intended) by writing about baking – specifically skinny irish stout cupcakes that taste on par with the full-fat version.
